CIRCULATION WITH AIR-COOLED LIGHTING SYSTEM
This system was developed to increase yield and efficiency. Lighting companies started building enclosed reflectors so that growers could cool the lamp itself, allowing greater control of air temperature and light by reducing radiant heat from the lamp. A cooler lamp can be hung closer to the plants, greatly increasing lumens at the growth site.
An air-cooled reflector is basically a box or enclosed space with a reflector over the lamp to direct and reflect light, a tempered plate glass panel to allow light to pass through but keep heat in. A separate fan pulls the heat from the fixture and out of the chamber.
